A heat pump takes warmth from the outside air, even on a frosty morning, and moves it into your radiators and hot water. For every unit of electricity it uses, it delivers three to four units of heat.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme takes £7,500 off the price when a heat pump replaces a gas, oil or electric boiler in England and Wales. We apply for it; the grant comes off your invoice.
What it could save
Against oil or LPG, a heat pump in a well-insulated house typically saves £300 to £900 a year; against mains gas, the saving is smaller and depends on your tariff. Panels and a battery help it further. We’ll give you an estimate for your home after the survey.
How it goes
Heat loss survey
Every room measured, so the heat pump and radiators are sized to keep it warm on the coldest days.
Design and grant
A design and a fixed price; we apply for the grant before we start.
Fit
The heat pump outside, the cylinder inside, radiators swapped where needed, in three to five days.
Settle in
We tune the controls with you and come back after the first cold snap.
